SCOPE 

The Program Committee is interested in presentations that apply the latest trends, statistics, best practices, and research in the field while providing practical tips that can be immediately applied to a library development program.  Although not limited to these areas, topics of interest gleaned from past conference evaluations include: 

  • Getting Started: Fundraising 101  (Deans and/or development directors) 
  • Building and Renovation Fundraising 
  • Marketing your library 
  • Business/Fundraising Plan development 
  • Special Collections Fundraising fundamentals 
  • Gifts-in-Kind: valuations and legal components  
  • Planned Giving 
  • Corporate and Foundation fundraising for Libraries  
  • Online Fundraising and Communications 
  • Raising the institutional profile of your library/ making the Library a campus priority  
  • Leveraging resources (working with central development, mobilizing librarians/staff)  
  • Building your donor pipeline: Prospect research, analysis, and data management 
  • Special events fundraising 
  • Office and Staffing Structure and Impact on Giving to the Library? Small or individual offices?  
  • Donor relations, multi-interest donors, etc.  
  • Naming opportunities—structure and strategy
